Helper, Deployment and Health
These three terms appear throughout this manual. They describe separate steps that build on each other:
- Helper: Shows what a deployment needs, for example the permissions on the target system, and for some deployment types also helps to set them up. Helpers are optional and neither deploy certificates nor check their Health.
- Deployment: Writes the certificate to the target and binds it to the service. A deployment is only considered successful once the certificate is bound.
- Health: Checks whether the correct certificate is present on the target and actively in use. The check runs automatically in each cycle and after each deployment, with a retest after 60 seconds if that check fails. It can also be started manually, see chapter Deployment & health cycle.
