PowerShell module
The module needs Windows PowerShell 5.1 or later and connects to the management API, by default http://127.0.0.1:5188, see chapter Import the module and check the connection.
| Symptom | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| TLSPilot: this cmdlet requires an elevated PowerShell (Run as administrator). | The cmdlet reads the key of the management API, which requires administrator rights. | Start PowerShell with Run as administrator. |
| TLSPilot API error (<method> <path>): <detail> | The management API returned an error or cannot be reached. | Check that the management service runs. If it is not on this host, set the address with Set-TLSPilotBaseUrl or the environment variable TLSPILOT_URL. |
| TLSPilot: the current operator is not allowed to <action>. | Your RBAC role does not allow this action. | Ask an Owner for the required role. |
| TLSPilot: /api/me is unavailable; write refused. | The module could not determine your permissions, so it refuses changes. | Check the connection to the management API and try again. |
| Start-TLSPilotCycle -Wait timed out after <n> seconds. | The cycle took longer than the wait time. | Raise -TimeoutSeconds or check the progress with Get-TLSPilotLog. |
| Customer activation is One-Time Key only. Use Unlock-TLSPilotLicense. | A license file cannot be imported directly. | Activate the license with Unlock-TLSPilotLicense and the one-time key. |
| Set-TLSPilotCredential: -Secret is required when creating a credential. | A new credential needs a secret. | Pass the secret with -Secret as SecureString. |
